Michael Reiffenstuel

 

Since 2005, Michael Reiffenstuel is Head of the Germany's Image Abroad team and Deputy Head of department 611 (former K09), responsible for the co-ordination of Germany's image abroad and transnational public diplomacy projects in the Directorate-General for Culture and Communication at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

He grew up at the Tegernsee in Germany and studied law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where he graduated in 1993. After doing a Master at the University of Georgia/Athens (USA) he was awarded with a Master of Laws and entered the civil service in 1994 in the legal department at the Federal Foreign Office.

During his career, he has been working amongst others in Sarajevo, London and New Delhi.
