Dr Peter van Ham is director of the Global Governance Research Programme at the Clingendael Institute in Den Haag (Netherlands) and teaches at the College of Europe in Bruges.
His research interests are European security and defence policy, transatlantic relations and place branding. From 1996 to 2001 van Ham was professor for Western European policy at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Patenkirchen. Before, he worked at the WEU Institutes for Security Studies in Paris, the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London and the Columbia University in New York.
Dr Peter van Ham is member of the Advisory Council on International Affairs of the government of the Netherlands.
