Andrei Stas, born in 1972 in Moscow, is a strategist and brand consultant. He graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in Russian History.
He started his career as a brand manager with Mars and Nestle and then continued as Marketing Vice President in one of Russia's major spirits and wines Company. In this position, Andrei managed a wide portfolio of international brands and launched several highly successful brand spirits in the Russian market.
In 1999, Andrei founded Stas Marketing Partners, a strategy, marketing and innovation consultancy which is now based in Moscow, London, Zagreb and Chisinau. As managing partner, Andrei has managed more than 100 projects in FMCG, telecommunication, transportation, finance as well as for government and non-profit organizations. As a recognized strategy expert he sits on the board of several Russian companies.
Andrei is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He was also the editor-in-chief of the Russian Brand Management Journal for four years. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences on strategy, marketing and place development. Andrei is a Lecturer at the Executive MBA in Moscow State Management University.
Most recently, he authored a book in Russian called "New Heraldry: How Countries, Regions and Cities Build Their Brands" that is to be published in December 2008.
