Anna Schwan was born in London in 1978. After graduation from the University of Hamburg in History, Journalism and Theater Studies, she moved to the U. S. where she worked as a project manager in the PR department of the German embassy, the German Information Center, for three years . In 2005, she returned to Berlin and is since working for Scholz & Friends Agenda as a consultant for political PR. As Director Project Management, she co-headed the initiative "Germany – Land of Ideas".
Since 2006, Anna is also working on her Ph.D. thesis on nation branding at the University of Hamburg. She is a postgraduate-fellow of the "Friedrich-Naumann Stiftung für die Freiheit".
Annas publications include the article "Der Standort als Marke" (PDF), published in the June 2007-edition of the magazine politik&kommunikation and the essay "The Image of Germany in U. S. media" which will be published in the reader "The German Presence in the USA" in 2007 as well as several journalistic articles.
