Brigitte Nolopp was born 1958 in Recklinghausen. After taking her Master in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin, Institute of Aeronautics, she spent ten years as product manager and CEO in measurement equipment companies, gathering hands-on management experience in Asia and Africa.
In 1995, she went to Harvard Business School for the Program of Management Development (pmd69). After that she worked as consultant before she joint PreussenElektra AG in 1999 and went actively through the merger and branding process of E.ON AG as member of the strategic management group at E.ON Sales & Trading.
From 2002 to 2007, she was the responsible regional manager of the Federal Program “Active Regions” in East Frisia, a scheme (and budget) provided by the Federal Ministry of Food, Consumer Protection and Agriculture (BMELV). In these five years she initiated and became the responsible manager of the new regional brand of East Frisia, which was established by a broad regional board of stakeholders under the assistance of BBDO Consulting GmbH. Today she is running the brand as a regional profit center. Her assignment covers a host of communication issues and several cross-over projects like “Garten Eden”, the tourism organization of mainland East Frisia www.modellregionen.de and www.modellregion-ostfriesland.de) and the regional development process. Presently she is writing a case study about the value-based management of the brand and working on her doctoral theses at the University of Kassel: “Building a value-based brand policy as a base for sustainable regional management”, in short: “Counting on East Frisia”.
