Dick de Jong lives in Bilthoven (Netherlands) and is owner of Brandaris Placemarketing Dick de Jong (www.brandarismarketing.nl), an agency specialized in building brands for locations, cityquarters, cities and regions. He works on his own weblog www.placemarketing.nl.

Dick de Jong was born 1962 in Hilversum (Netherlands) and studied Law and economics at Utrecht University. After that he joined the company of Unilever where he was a productmanager for icecream and pastries. He was a managing consultant for seven years on the subject of service management for big Dutch companies and public authorities and followed the Harvard Business School Program "Achieving Breakthrough Service".

In the year 2000 he started his own agency to focus on the marketing and branding of locations and cities. For the City of Utrecht he was both responsible for the marketing of Leidsche Rijn (a new district for 80.0000 inhabitants and 40.0000 workers) and later for the City marketing of Utrecht. After that he did a lot of projects for different cities and developers in which he functioned as a marketingspecialist and coordinator. In the last years Dick is building and disseminating his knowledge via courses, workshops and congresses. He plans to publish a book on the subject of placemarketing & placebranding in 2009.
