Henry Werner works as Senior Consultant/Manager Public Affairs for Burson-Marsteller in Berlin (Germany). One of his specialities are communication and public diplomacy strategies for regions and countries. He holds lectures and key notes on place branding and public diplomacy, and advises several regional and national governments, business development organisations and municipalities on communications strategies.
Henry Werner was born in Berlin (Germany) in 1971 and studied in Berlin and Odense (Denmark). He holds a degree in Economics at the Free University Berlin and an M. A. in Northern European Studies, Politics and Journalism at the Humboldt-University Berlin. From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a doctoral candidate for the research project "The Cultural Construction of Communities in the Modernisation Process" at the Humboldt-University Berlin and at the European University Institute Florence (Italy). Since 1999, he is a member of the Advisory Board of "NordeuropaForum". In 2003, Henry Werner was confered a doctorate on the cultural construction of money
and currency communities, ("Geld und Gemeinschaft"). In 2006 and 2007, he also gave courses on nation branding and public diplomacy at the Humboldt-University Berlin.
Henry Werner worked from 1994 to 1997 as a Duty Editor for the "NordeuropaForum". From 1994 to 1999, he was project manager for Baltic Consult, and from 1999 to 2008, he worked as Officer for Press and Culture, and as Press Attaché (since 2003) at the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin. Since 2008, he works as Senior Consultant/Manager Public Affairs for Burson-Marsteller.
