Dipl. Des. Marie Spiekermann

Dipl. Designer and Journalist Marie Spiekermann, born 1972 in Neuenhaus near the Dutch boarder, is an expert for corporate identity and branding. Her main focus is on brand identity of places and brand consulting work.

Marie studied Journalism, Communication Science and Design at Freie Universität Berlin, at James Cook University Cairns and University of Arts (UdK) Berlin. She consults in questions about "HOW TO BRAND PLACES" as IdentityLab (a company her associate Meike Eitel and she formed as one of the very first companies for Place Branding), does lecture at University on this subject and leads workshops and conferences on branding & communication. Since June 2008 she is responsible for the Visual Communication at design akademie berlin, Hochschule für Kommunikation und Design (FH), Berlin. Before, she worked in Berlin, Sydney, Townsville and Zurich.

Marie develops identity based solutions to create, in sight and position a place as a brand focussing on an unique identity. At the moment she is working with Meike on the book „Branding Places – Identity as an economic element“ (ET II/2009).
