Marta Vallejo Arenaz was born in Zaragoza (Spain), 1963.
She holds a communications degree of the University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain).
Marta started as a sports journalist and at the age of 24 Marta became the head of the Sports Area of Heraldo de Aragón, one of the main newspapers in Spain. Marta was awarded by the Zaragoza Press Association for her innovation in the treatment of the sports information.
Marta Vallejo specialized in Sports and Olympics, and particularly in the role of sports in place and country branding. At the age of 26 she was the Director of Communications of the Spanish Winter Olympic Bid of Jaca 98.
Marta received a special recognition of the former IOC president, Mr Juan Antonio Samaranch, for the work developed by the Olympic Bid communications team during the IOC General Assembly held in Tokyo in 1990.
With several years of experience in sales-oriented communication and marketing departments (with projects in Spain and Latinamerica), in 2006, Marta entered the Expo movement when she was becoming director of communications of the Zaragoza International Expo 2008 General Commissioner´s Office (Ministry of the Presidency, Government of Spain). This Expo was held in Zaragoza (Spain) in 2008, with the participation of 105 countries and 3 international organizations (UN, EU and the Iberoamerican General Secretariat).
Within GRANTA CONSULTING, her place- and branding company, Marta has put together key specialist from Spain and international associate consultants coming from the fields of Olympics, sports, corporate communications and international relations.
