Meike Eitel, born 1975, is engaged in identity process and its commercial aspect since her studies in visual communications 1995. She holds a degree in Corporate Identity and as a postgraduate student at the University of Arts (Berlin) in Electronic Business with a dissertation on Nation Branding.
Meike has been working as a creative therapist in Boston, as a freelance designer (Dresden, Berlin), within the Creative Development in communication projects for e.g. deutsche Telekom, Yello, Sony, VW (I-D Media AG: Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin) and at the Federal Ministry of the Interior (internship, Berlin).
As a founding member of the Association for Place Branding & Public Diplomacy she aims at fostering the exchange and dialogue between theory and various approaches in practise.
She is a board member for years ans leads the working group "Sience & Research".
Besides her dedication to the AP&P she is lobbying for human rights.
In 2006, Meike Eitel founded identityLab together with Marie Spiekermann. She develops strategies based on identity to enhance the high profile as a brand for places. Meike gives lectures on brand management and identity models.
Currently Meike is a doctoral candidate (cand. rer. pol.) at the University of Potsdam. Her research / Ph.D. thesis is on "Instruments of Reputationmanagement in Europeen Countries".
